Malmo, Sweden Låt oss ta en titt! (Let's take a look!)

Updated: Feb 11, 2019

Let's talk about FOOD first. We have yet to try a traditional Swedish meal such as Swedish meatballs with gravy and lingonberry BUT we have had some phenomenal food courtesy of the 5 minute walk to the square (area with restaurants and bars) from our place. On Saturday we scavenged for food around 6pm because we were tired and hungry from the long day of travel. However, much to our dismay, every place in the square was PACKED and at 6pm! We were astonished thinking 6pm would beat the dinner crowd and there would be no wait for places. We finally settled at a restaurant called La Grappa, where we enjoyed some parmesan fries, cheese board, meat board, and bread board. The next night we went to an Italian restaurant called Picco Lo Mondo, which may be one of the best risottos and meat pizza I have ever had. (debatable of course)

Now, exploring the city was a DAYDREAM!! Before coming to Sweden, I thought I was going to be entering the tundra having to wear about 8 layers with ski pants, only my eyes showing, and maybe a thick rabbit fur hat. What I have experienced in Malmo so far is a consistent 30-35 degrees Fahrenheit with slight winds and nothing completely unbearable. As I always say, "there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes." We anxiously explored the quaint city of Malmo with ancient buildings dating as far as the 1500s within Old Malmo, and even explored to more metropolitan areas. We found many precious alley ways with colorful buildings and picturesque nooks and crannies EVERYWHERE!
